2. Are you using or planning Google Family Link?

Family Link is Google's parental control system for kids with their own Google account.

2. Does your child have their own Google account?

Teens 13–15 in Czech Republic still need parental consent — but the form varies by account type.

Recommended: Family Link Mode

Your child has a Google account under Family Link supervision. Google has already verified your parental consent, so we don't need to run our own verification.

Benefits: easier setup (no card or SMS verification), Mentor adds depth to Family Link's controls (detailed watch log, lessons, push commands).

How to proceed:

Register your mentor account
When adding a child, sign in to their Google account (OAuth)
Mentor automatically detects the supervised state
Child installs the extension and you're done

Your child is under 15 without Family Link. Czech law requires us to verify your parental consent.

Verification: choose one of three options — 1 CZK card refund (instantly refunded, default), SMS to your phone, or ID via Veriff (premium).

How to proceed:

Register your mentor account
Complete a short VPC form when adding the child
After verification, create the child profile
Child installs the extension via pairing code or SMS link

Your child is 13+ with their own Google account or no Google account. For the PoC version we still recommend verifying parental consent via our VPC mechanism.

Why: the Czech age threshold for independent consent is 15. For younger we recommend verified consent. For 16+ VPC is just a formality but speeds up setup.

Create child profile
Pair via code or SMS link

Your child is 16+. In Czech Republic, above 15 they already have the power to consent themselves.

Best practice: we still recommend informing the child about data collection and getting their consent. Family Link is weak at this age, Mentor becomes the primary tool.
